Lupinus albus
The plants are a real insect magnet, improve the soil and produce protein-rich seeds.
Sweet lupins are a great addition to the garden. They loosen the soil and improve the nutrient content with the help of nitrogen-fixing nodule bacteria. The gluten-free seeds, which have been freed from bitter substances, are widely used in cooking, especially in the Mediterranean region. When roasted, the seeds are also used as a snack or as a coffee substitute. The white lupine prefers warm, lime-poor soil and has fast, uncomplicated growth.
